Where to Shop for the Most Affordable Goods

by | Apr 13, 2013 | Health Care

It’s so easy to shop online nowadays – perhaps too easy. With more families working longer hours than ever before, many of us don’t have the time to head for a weekly grocery shop, and have turned to online shopping to save us the hassle of a trip to the store. Is it cheaper to purchase goods online, or should you head for your local superstore or market?

Markets

Shopping at markets is one of the best ways to ensure that your produce is really fresh. Often cheaper than your local grocery store, markets sell fruit and vegetables, as well as bread, cheese and meat for reasonable prices and at the very peak of freshness. By heading along at the end of the day, you can often pick up goods at discounted prices, before stall owners pack up for the day. Market shopping is a great day out with the kids, and a fun way to introduce them to different fruits and vegetables, although for cosmetics and other personal items, you’ll still need to frequent the store.

Walmart

Walmart and other discount superstores are a great place to head if you’re buying in bulk. From essentials such as toilet paper and deodorant to baby suppliers such as wipes and diapers, heading to Walmart for organic Baby Formula  could see you saving more money than buying at your local store! In Walmart, baby formula is available in store brand or name brand varieties, but store brand formula is often identical in nutritional value to leading brands, and you could save up to $600 a year by choosing this option.

Shop Online

Buying your baby supplies and household goods online could save you even more money compared to shopping at a discount store. For those moms pushed for time, buying in bulk online can save time as well as money, although you won’t be able to take advantage of using those coupons you clipped last week. It’s easy to find both leading brand and store brand baby formula, wipes, diapers and toiletries in bulk online for discounted rates, and of course you don’t have to carry all the heavy shopping to the car afterwards.

Local Stores

Your local grocery store is the best place for a quick shop – if you’ve run out of milk, or don’t have time to head to Walmart for baby formula and a pack of diapers, the local store is the place to be! With prices higher than discount superstores or shopping online, whilst you should support your local store, you shouldn’t make it the sole place for grocery shopping, as you will inevitably spend more money in the long run.

Where you shop is a personal choice, but buying online is often the most convenient and cheapest choice for busy families. For those with a free hour or two on their hands, stocking up on supplies at Walmart or another discount superstore is a great alternative.

Walmart’s exclusive brand Parent’s Choice Formula was introduced in 1998, and is one of the leading baby formula brands in the USA today. The brand also offers a range of infant food including toddler formula, organic soy formula, pediatric nutritional beverages and snacks including cereal bars and yogurt bites.  Nutritionally comparable to leading brands, Walmart baby formula meets FDA standards and could save parents $600 a year compared to purchasing name-brand formula.
