Kubota is a Japanese company originally established in Osaka, Japan in 1890. It initially was a foundry, producing pipes and related metal objects. It remained in this field until the 1920s when it developed the Kubota Oil Engine. By 1947, it had developed a cultivator but was also producing various construction equipment. In fact, it was not until 1960 that the company offered its first Japanese Kubota tractors for sale.
From then on, Kubota worked on manufacturing various agricultural equipment. All their ventures, however, stressed the need for environmentally friendly and clean technology. They continued to maintain this aspect of their ventures even when they established their first plant in the United States
Kubota Enters America
While Kubota tractors have been for sale earlier in the US – they had begun exporting to this country in 1969 – this was not enough. Kubota decided to fully enter the competitive American tractor market in 1972. Although the Kubota Tractor Corporation was formed in Torrance, California, the first manufacturing facility, under the title the Kubota Manufacturing of America Corporation (KMA), did not open until 1988. The location was Gainesville, GA.
The facility initially focused on producing various implements for the famed Kubota tractors. Later, they added an entire line of gear directed to homeowners including lawn and garden equipment. People could now find garden tractors for sale at many Kubota dealerships and garden centers in Bellingham and elsewhere throughout the different American states. The company became known for its T Series of lawn tractors in 1994.
As the company continued to sell its products successfully in America, it began to increase the diversity of its equipment offerings. The series of tractors bearing its name continued to grow. Some were small tractors, others were midsize. The company made innovations or adopted the ideas of others. The results included such things as:
- The BX Series general-use subcompact
- ZD Series zero turn mid-mount mower
- BX22 All-Purpose Residential Tractor
Change and innovation were important to Kubota. As the demand for their products increased, so too, did the strain on their plants. A second one was added in Jefferson, GA in 2005. This plant was to focus only on tractor implements. The name for this new facility and company was Kubota Industrial Equipment Corporation (KIE). Today, they even reassemble all kubota tractors sold in the United States including in Bellingham, WA.
Kubota Tractors For Sale Today
For more than 20 years, Kubota has continued to grow in the United States. It maintains its role in providing quality tractors and implements for the American market. As a corporation, KMA maintains a strong presence in the United States while selling its products globally. This is a mark of a successful company – one that has reached out from it small beginning as a foundry in Osaka, Japan, to place its tractors for sale in a global marketplace.
