Do you play golf? If you are a woman, it can be difficult to find great golf clothes as most golf clothes are geared towards men. But just as it is a common misconception that golf is a sport just for men, it is similarly a misconception that there are no good golf clothes out there for ladies who enjoy the sport as well. Here is how to find great ladies golf clothes.
Premium on Comfort
When playing any sport, your clothes should be comfortable to allow you to move around with ease. Thus, when trying to find golf clothes, you should place a premium on how comfortable or uncomfortable they are when you put them on and move around in them, so you can walk, putt, and swing your best.
Look for the Right Top Wear
Ladies golf clothes tops typically have a wide assortment of styles and makes. You can choose from:
- Polos
- Tees
- Long sleeve shirts
- Collared shirts
- Button down shirts
Look for the Right Bottom Wear
The three types of bottoms that are most popular in ladies golf clothes selections are pants, skorts, and shorts. Each type of bottom wear comes with its own advantages and disadvantages, depending on weather conditions and what type of coverage you are looking for.
Pants have the advantage that they are perfect to be worn in cold weather, as they provide your legs with full coverage, but they may be less optimal for warm or hot weather for this same reason. However, pants can be made from lighter materials, and in these cases they can be worn on lightly windy yet warm days as well.
Shorts are perfect for warm weather, as they typically end in length above or at the knee. However, they are not a good choice for cold weather, as they expose your legs to the cold, wind, and elements. Skorts are a similar option to shorts; however, they are differentiated by a flap or skirt above and attached to the shorts underneath, giving the illusion of a skirt but providing that extra layer underneath. Skorts are also usually about the same length as shorts, ending at or slightly above the knee or at mid thigh level. Conversely, they are also not a good choice for cold weather due to their reduced length.
