Potential Benefits of Juvederm

There are a variety of potential treatments that can be used to help limit the appearance of wrinkles. People who want to have a minimally invasive treatment that doesn’t involve surgery may want to consider dermal fillers, such as Juvederm. There are a number of benefits to this type of treatment.

Gives Skin a Smoother Appearance

This filler, made with a substance called hyaluronic acid, which is already found in the body so it’s unlikely to cause an adverse reaction, can help to smooth out the appearance of the skin and make wrinkles less obvious. It adds volume to the skin and moisture to the skin. It can be effective to help minimize the appearance of wrinkles near the nose, cheeks and forehead; correct the appearance of scars; make lips look fuller and help reduce the appearance of folds in the eyelids and troughs under the eyes.

Safe for People of Color

While many fillers may not be suitable for people with darker skin, the FDA has approved Juvederm for this purpose.

Quick Treatment and Recovery Times

The treatment usually takes only about 15 or 20 minutes and involves getting a number of injections into the skin. It isn’t necessary to undergo any tests prior to treatment, and many people are recovered enough to return to work the same day of their treatment. The more intense of a treatment that is given, the longer the recovery time, however. The main issues with the treatment tend to be a bit of redness or swelling at the injection sites.

Different Levels of Treatment

There are two versions of this filler, one of which is meant for people who have mild or moderate wrinkles or skin issues, and one that is meant for people who have more severe wrinkles. This makes it more likely that people will get the best results possible.

Duration of Effects

The effects of fillers aren’t permanent. They typically last between 6 months and a year, after which time it will be necessary to get a new treatment in order to maintain the beneficial effects of the treatment.
